The unique architectural design of train station in Thailand that clearly presents how important Lampang was in the old days where many precious commodities like teak wood , etc., had been shipped from this station to Bangkok. The design of the main building flawlessly mixes between Eastern and Western style along with a group of many nicely styled buildings; which makes this place one of the Must of visiting Lampang.
Moreover, in the back of this station, there is still a rare building like a railway turntable or wheelhouse that nowadays only 2 left in this country. Also ,there is a water stop or water station that is an evidence to remind us of the glorious days steam locomotives or trains had been used. At the far left of the station, near the Wang river, tourists can see the black steel bridge (Sapan Dum) which is one of the historical railway bridge that still survives from the very beginning of train era in this country and still used today. Not far from this bridge, there is a morning market (Kad Kaojao) surrounded by a group of about hundred years old buildings made from teak wood where you can walk around to see local produced and perhaps enjoy a cup of coffee or tea and many delicious local foods with very reasonable prices.
